Repair of car remotes and key cases
We repair faulty remote controls and replace worn cases and buttons.
About the service
A remote most often stops working because of a flat battery, sunken or worn buttons, a cracked case or moisture. Sometimes it has lost its link with the car and needs to be synchronised again. That is why a diagnosis is worth it before you order a new key: the problem is often simpler than it looks.
With a key that went through the wash, the circuit board may be covered in green corrosion and look ready for the bin. In many cases it is saved by cleaning the corrosion, restoring the contacts and checking the transmission. The sooner you bring it, the better.
When you need it
- The remote buttons do not react.
- The case is cracked or worn.
- The key went through the wash or is damp.
- The remote works only from time to time.
Why trust us
Repairing electronics is a different craft from cutting keys, so we do it with diagnostics, not by luck. The blog describes real cases: a washed key whose board was cleaned and checked on a frequency analyser (433 MHz), and a SAAB remote with a cracked board. If a repair makes no sense, you will hear it from us before you pay for anything unnecessary.
Frequently asked questions
Can a remote that went through the wash be fixed?
Often yes. In the blog we describe a washed car key and the restoration of its board after corrosion.
Is a repair worth it, or is a new key better?
It depends on the damage. Describe the symptoms over the phone and we will tell you which is more reasonable.
