Transponder car key (chip key)
We make duplicates of car keys with a chip and program the new keys to the car computer. If you have a working key, the second one is quicker and easier to make.
About the service
A modern car key is two things in one: a metal blade cut to the factory code, and a chip (transponder) that the car must accept. If the chip is not registered in the immobiliser or the access module, the engine will not start, however precisely the blade is cut. The remote that locks and unlocks is a third, separate system and is programmed separately.
The easiest and fastest way is to make a second key while the first one still works, because then the car already has something to start from. When all keys are lost the procedure is different and longer, and some cars have a deliberate waiting period that no equipment can skip.
When you need it
- You have one key and want a spare.
- The key is lost and the car does not start.
- The chip or the key is damaged.
- You bought a car with only one key.

Why trust us
We program with equipment from Autel, Xhorse, Keydiy and Obdstar. We cut keys by factory code, not as a copy of the worn original, so the new one often runs smoother than the old one. At the end we check everything: the engine starts steadily and again, the remote locks and unlocks, and the old keys keep working unless you ask for them to be deleted.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a chip key cost?
Programming a chip key is from €45 to €180, depending on the car and its system. Prices cover labour only, materials are charged separately.
Do I need to take the car to the atelier?
We work at your address, so the car does not have to move. See the real cases below.
How many keys do I need?
We recommend always having at least two working keys. That way, if one is lost, nothing has to be restored from scratch, which is usually more complicated.
How long does it take to make a key?
It depends on the model. A second key to a working original is quick: the blog describes a Renault Modus done in 15 minutes in the atelier. With all keys lost and with newer systems it takes longer, because some cars have a built-in waiting period before access to the key system.
